Completely Contemp Challenge – I have issues

Sooooo, I’ve been seeing reviews of all these books recently that I want to read, and thinking “Well now, that would be excellent for the Completely Contemp Challenge which I haven’t even started yet.” But I’ve realized…I don’t actually know what a contemporary book is. It means a book set in current times that has no magic…right? So, like, Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard would be OK. But what about The Alchemy of Forever, which I REALLY WANT TO READ? I don’t think that one counts because it’s got magic and a 600-year-old immortal. But is it necessary to be realistic and have no magic, or is the only requirement that it be set in current times? I am CONFUSED. Maybe I’ll just pick things from the lists.

Oh, and I’ll tack another question on to this also – is the goodreads 2012 reading challenge widget updating for anyone else? It won’t update for either me or Michelle and I can’t figure out what’s wrong…

I wasn’t sure that they were that specific. I guess check your challenge site, but I thought when I looked at that one it just said it just had to be written in a certain (modern) time frame. Not sure about the setting or magic requirements.

The goodreads thing is getting annoying. Maybe we should contact them?
