The End of Your Life Book Club by Will Schwalbe

Really not sure what to say about this one. It’s a short memoir of an impromptu, two-member book club which arises when a young man tries to talk to his mother about something while accompanying her to cancer treatments. Nothing groundbreaking happens here, and since Mary Anne Schwalbe has Stage Four pancreatic cancer, we all know how it will end up. Still, the book selections and their discussions of the texts and other things are fairly interesting. Spare and not too sappy, not too religious, not too preachy (although there were lots of discussions about charities and refugees, prayers, etc.), this was a quick read which helped me to beef up my already towering TBR list.
